Luang Prabang Photographic Tour

Colonial city, amazing buddhism culture and hill tribe villages.

Luang Prabang has been a photographic paradise due to it’s unique and “remarkably” well preserved buddhist and french architectural, religious and cultural heritage sites, buildings and temples. This being surrounded my amazing viewpoints, lush forests and beautiful waterfalls, combined with a local culture of the tribes living around the city in the mountains of Northern Laos.

Cities and highlights covered: Luang Prabang – Wat Xieng Thong – Mekhong River Tour – Kuang Si Falls – Tat Sae Waterfalls, and Pak Ou Caves

EXPERIENCE Beginner, amateur, enthusiast and pro photographers.

Travel by private a/c car or minibus Moderate elevation changes and some walking. (*non-photographers also welcome)

Arrive at Luang Prabang Airport and transfer to your hotel. Visit to Wat Xieng Thong for an evening scene at blue hour and monk novice scenes.

Early wake up for the morning alms with monks in the main street with the surroundings of Wat Sene Souk Haram. At dawn the resident monks of the temples gather together and walk the streets in single file, collecting rice and food from the people who live nearby. It’s a beautiful sight, a noble tradition and a photographic draw card.

We go on the Mekong river, stopping at ethnic hill tribe villages along the way. We will also visit local communities that produce silk, rice whiskey and photograph agricultural farmers at work and visit a local temple.

Today we wake up early again and shoot the Alms round at another location in the city. Breakfast and rest in the hotel. We then proceed to visit the Kuang Si Falls and the Tat Sae Waterfalls. Evening scenes with monks in Wat Wisunalat and golden hour scenes at the temple.

After another morning alms round (optional) we leave after breakfast for a trip to a local village where we shoot indoor scenes of the hilltribes and the daily life of the ethnic minorities of Northern Laos. After lunch we visit some amazing local temples, and the local market. The evening scene we walk up to Phu Si (Mount Phou Si) is a hill located at the center of Luang Prabang town, for an amazing sunset over the river and city. Dinner and overnight in Luang Prabang.

After breakfast departure to the airport for you flight home or other destination.
